Graham Davies

As a plein air artist, I am always looking for the best subjects with the right lighting. I have always been interested in buildings, London streets, the Thames and local subjects. I aim to bring out the best from every location by visiting at different times of the day to achieve the best light. I work mainly in watercolour - allowing the colours to fuse; aiming to capture the five minutes of the best light before it is lost. I love to bring my imagination to every subject I paint.

When not painting plein air, I work in my studio where I can control the temperature to achieve the best results for my art. Here, I work from sketches and photos I have taken on previous visits.
