Artistic collaboration with Getty photographer Solomon N'jie

March 03, 2022

Freddie Mercury digital painting by Stella Tooth inspired by photograph by Solomon N'Jie

Skylark Galleries musician artist Stella Tooth has begun an artistic collaboration with Getty rock photographer Solomon N’Jie under the title 'Art & Sol’.

Working on her iPad pro with Apple pencil, in the Procreate app, Stella has transformed four of his 80s stadium rock images so far into affordable artworks.

Each original digital painting is 12"x12" - album cover size. Framed in black the images are designed to be bought separately or build into a rock collection on the walls of music lovers.

Sol and Stella met in a pop up in Ealing where he was exhibiting just some of the 500 photos he had taken of rockers like Eric Clapton, Freddie Mercury, Madonna, Rod Stewart and Sting. Stella, a portrait artist and resident artist at legendary music venue, the Half Moon Putney, has her home studio, in the same borough.

Here are Stella’s portraits, now available on Skylark Galleries at £199 each:
