Skylark 3D artists processes

Agata Henderson recently joined the gallery:

Agata Henderson's mesh melt process
“As a glass artist, I’m endlessly fascinated by the magic that happens inside the kiln. Where some of the most beautiful moments are completely unplanned.
Lately, I’ve been exploring whimsical glass patterns using the mesh melt technique, a process that lets molten glass flow through a metal mesh. The result is organic, lace-like designs that can never be exactly repeated. Every firing brings a new personality, a new rhythm, a new story in the glass.
Because of this, each piece is truly one of a kind, shaped by heat, gravity, and a little bit of mystery.”

Gillian Brett, figurative sculptor

"I enjoy working from life, and finding out all about my sitters during the process!
This commission work involved siblings who came to my studio so that I could observe them and sketch in clay, working intuitively and as quickly as possible.
My sculptures aim to capture real people, doing real things. In this case moulds were made of my finished work and used to create cold cast bronze sculpture, approximately 30 cm tall.
I’m told they have pride of place in their family home and will become treasured heirlooms”

Janet White is a ceramicist based in West London.

Janet is currently showcasing her seascape range of work at Skylark.
“I use a combination of glazes which I make, to evoke the movement, texture and colours of the sea. My vessels include wheel thrown moon jar shaped pots, wavey lipped vases as well as hand-built seashells.”

Janet uses her art to connect her with her Chinese heritage after leaving Hong Kong as a child. Her other range of work – her ‘Heritage’ range - is inspired by blue and white china where she integrates her Chinese brush paining practice with ceramics into her mixed media wall pieces. 'Waves' examples shown above.

‘Tilt1’, a decorative ceramic bowl by Ruty Benjamini.
"This form was originally thrown on the potter's wheel. Then it was stretched, torn and reconstructed. I used ceramic stains to colour the outside and highlight texture. I glazed the inside using a bright shiny Turquoise glaze to create a contrast.
My inspiration came from seascapes, when the dry textures and colours of sand rocks are contrasted by the shiny turquoise blue of the water.
'Tilt1' is fired to 1130°C in an electric kiln.”

‘Away with the fairies’ by ceramicist Vivien Phelan

“I totally relax & enjoy my time in the studio . This sculpture was a commission which depicts the things the lady enjoys in life, I like making these
My process is throwing on the potter’s wheel, then altering the shape as I see fit.
I also enjoy cheerfulness & colour. “
