The tightrope walker composure busker portrait by Stella Tooth

The Venice tightrope walker, dressed as a maid and crossing the wire with a feather duster in one hand and a small parasol in the other, looked anxious, when she leant against the tree to which her wire was tied. But as soon as she stepped out into the performance, her face radiated confidence, increasing with applause of the crowd of bystanders. I’ve captured her here in both phases of the performance.
