Some of my work is autobiographical, looking back to my childhood with the aim of evoking shared memories in the viewer. My mother was Italian and this was my first trip at six years old to visit relatives with our first stop the eternal city Rome. Here my sister and her friend, dressed in 60s clothing are posing for a photo against the Palatine hills with my Godfather’s son. One carries the scarf they needed to cover their shoulders as they looked around the cool interior of the cathedral.
