A plein air pencil, ink and watercolour painting.
I drew this at a one-day match last year. Luckily, the crowds were small, so I had plenty of choice when it came to finding a seat!
Established by Thomas Lord in 1787, Lord’s Cricket Ground has occupied its current St John’s Wood site since 1814 and is widely known as the home of cricket. One of its most striking features is the futuristic Media Centre, which won the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for architecture.
In 1884, Lord’s hosted its first Test match, with England defeating Australia by an innings and five runs.
