Leadenhall Market by David Richardson

£280.00

A plein air illustration drawn in the heart of London’s financial district, where the colourful Victorian architecture of Leadenhall Market stands in striking contrast to the towering office blocks surrounding it.

Inspired with this contrast. Positioned across the street, I sat and drew this historic market, which dates back to the 14th century and once sold meat, poultry and game.

The present market was built in the 19th century and has since become a popular tourist attraction, even featuring in the Harry Potter films for the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley.
