A plein air pencil, ink and watercolour painting.
Sitting precariously on the pavement of Charing Cross Road, I drew the Garrick Theatre on an early spring day, doing my best to ignore the passing traffic!
Named after the famous 18th-century actor David Garrick, the theatre was financed by playwright W. S. Gilbert, of Gilbert and Sullivan fame.
It is said to be haunted by former manager Arthur Bourchier, whose ghost allegedly taps people on the back. The theatre has also appeared in films, including Batman Begins and Stan & Ollie.
