Fulham FC, Craven Cottage by David Richardson

A plein air pencil, ink and watercolour painting.
   I drew this view of Craven Cottage a few years ago. As my son was/is a big Fulham fan, I’d visited many times when tickets were much cheaper! I got to know this lovely old ground, with its wonderful character and welcoming, family-friendly supporters.
   Designed by architect Archibald Leitch in 1905, the stadium is famed for its red-brick Johnny Haynes Stand and the charming Cottage Pavilion. Both are Grade II listed, preserving a little piece of football history.
   The ground has since been expanded along the riverbank and now holds around 29,600 spectators.
