The Crysanthemum represents autumn and is one of the 'Four Gentlemen' of Japanese art along with Bamboo, Plum Blossom and Orchid. It symbolises longevity and good fortune and is celebrated in September each year at the Festival of Happiness.
Painted on Japanese Kitakata paper made from the Gampi bush, using traditional black Sumi and coloured mineral inks. Mounted and framed in natural Ash.
