Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower), London by David Richardson

£165.00

A plein air pencil, ink and watercolour painting.
I searched for a spot away from the densely crowded streets around Big Ben and eventually found a little side street near the tube station, perfectly framing the view of this iconic London landmark.
Fortunately, I started early, as by midday the rickshaws had parked in front of me, blocking much of the view!
The present Houses of Parliament were largely rebuilt after the old Palace of Westminster burnt down in 1834. Big Ben's distinctive chime is famously associated with a crack in the Great Bell.
This iconic landmark has featured in numerous films, including The Thirty-Nine Steps and London Has Fallen.
