Anna’s paintings reflect an exhaustive search for sources of beauty, art that is both figurative and intuitive. Blending the traditions of looking at the world and telling a story; they attempt to break from any ideal that may hold on too tightly and too rigidly. Combining influences and constantly shifting one’s perspective, rewards the viewer with a painterly surface and brings a feeling that is akin to changing one’s mind – unreliable as a convincing narrative but capable of providing a brief glimpse into human nature. The artist’s trinity of influences are: the streets of London which she photographs, thirteen years she spent living and studying in America, and the cultural heritage of her childhood which was spent in Russia.
Anna’s paintings can be viewed in our physical gallery in Gabriel’s Wharf, London SE1 9PP
