Ischia is a quieter sister island to Capri in the Bay of Naples. From my outlook of a cafe overlooking a small beach near Castello Aragonese, I became fascinated by women bathers who were providing each other with camaraderie: chewing over the fat of the day, rubbing suntan lotion into each others’ shoulders and simply enjoying the sun on their skin.
