Good Day Sunshine bather portrait by Stella Tooth

Adelina, one of my Italian aunts, was the muse behind this mixed media artwork. The black and white photo that inspired it depicted her leaning against a beach’s railings, basking in the sun’s gentle warmth. The day before I started work on the portrait, my eye was caught by poppy seed pods in the garden. Here I envision them as surreal night-lights illuminating the boardwalk, a symbol of the beauty of youth and its fleeting nature.

Framing suggestion: without back of mount, this artwork fits a Ribba 50x70 frame
