Pauline in yellow ribbon portrait by Stella Tooth

Pauline was one of my favourite models at Heatherleys, with great bones and a kind personality. We all enjoyed painting her, face-to-face with artist and model close, intimate and intense. I enjoyed painting the yellow ribbon that framed her face. At the end of the session she stunned us all by removing her wig, revealing a close-cropped afro which we later painted with the shape of her head and neck in full view.
