Samaira Ali

I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Pakistani roots. I studied Italian and Art History at Copenhagen University and relocated to London with my family in 2011.

Drawing from my multicultural background, I blend diverse artistic styles to create new aesthetics and expressions that encourage viewers to reflect on and reconsider art. My goal is to expand the understanding of art beyond its visual appeal, creating pieces that provoke thought and dialogue.

My paintings often combine Calligraphy and Western art forms to challenge traditional cultural and artistic boundaries, offering fresh perspectives on intercultural art.

Using various techniques and tools, from brushes to palette knives, I enjoy painting in contemporary and modern styles, capturing natural scenes while also experimenting with unique layering and mark-making methods. My art is driven by instinct and intuition, aiming to keep it spontaneous and enjoyable.

I am passionate about bold colours, as I believe they generate a radiant energy that positively influences the viewer's mood.
