Diana calls on the natural world and changing seasons as the inspiration to create her textile art.
She uses layers of fabrics and silk fibres to build up her background. The sewing machine and threads become the ‘paint brush & paint’ that give detail and colour to unite the fabrics and give a textured surface.
Diana gained a City & Guild qualification in creative embroidery while still teaching.
She was so inspired by experimenting with fabrics and fibres that she decided to become a textile artist. This has involved exhibiting across the country, Open Studios, work in galleries and setting up a Bluebell Inspired craft fair.
Diana became a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen 10 years ago and has exhibited with them in the Mall Galleries, Chelsea College of Art and Chichester.
