Purple Lilies by Judy Head

Purple lilies, painted on fine Japanese paper made from mulberry leaves, using coloured mineral and black Sumi ink with traditional brushes. Under my signature is red Chop mark – this is Dancing Brush. This painting was completed this year from sketches made during the hot days of the summer of 2022 as my garden – usually a cool and shady place – became a furnace.  That lily suffered and has not flowered  at all this year. 

Japanese traditional inks from minerals and soot, painted on fine Mulberry paper.  The frame is wood, made from Ash, and the artwork is float mounted within the mount.  The frame supports two brass D rings with picture wire for hanging.
