This elegant vase is part wheel thrown and part hand built from stoneware clay. The interior is glazed is a rich copper turquoise high-fired glaze. The exterior decoration is made through careful scraping away and engraving of a cobalt oxide coloured slip. I work free-hand, creating images without stencils or templates, through observation of nature. This vase measures 38cm.
