An original painting of a male linnet, painted in gouache with fine coloured pencil detail on 300gsm watercolour paper. With a rosy-pink breast and crown against warm, streaked brown plumage, the linnet takes its name from its fondness for flax seed, the source of linen and linseed. Once a common farmland finch, it is now on the UK’s red list of birds of conservation concern.

The painting is sold unframed. At A4, it fits standard ready-made frames and mounts.
