This piece is an abstract interpretation of the view from just outside my door, suburban rooftops in London. I played around with a balance between detail and minimalism, and a grey, sombre colour palette, reflective of the overcast scene I looked out onto. It incorporates two firm threads that run throughout my work: wild nature against the suburban landscape. This was another piece that was directly inspired by my time in lockdown; waking up, making a cup of coffee and gazing across the rooftops feeling protected at home, and a sense of togetherness surrounded by others doing the same.
