Bright Nasturtium Leaves plate by Ruty Benjamini

This colourful organic shaped plate can hang on the wall (hanging attachment included) or rest on a flat surface. The imprinted Nasturtium leaves take on the orange red colour of Nasturtium flowers which can be a bit confusing. The background for the three leaves composition is bright green.

To create the form, I prepare a naturally textured a slab of clay and imprint the leaves onto it. I then drop the slab onto a mould and allow it to take its organic wavy shape. The biscuit firing fixes the form, texture and imprint. I paint it using ceramic underglaze colours, glaze and fire to 1130°C.
