Carole is an abstract artist based in London. Her inspiration is drawn from her surroundings including decayed, dilapidated and discarded objects, buildings or spaces.
She finds inspiration in imaginative play with shapes, symbols, colours, textures and the accident of light, using painterly processes to express personal and emotional connections, sometimes incorporating wider societal themes.
She enjoys exploring various visual possibilities and the process of abstracting the figurative. She experiments with a variety of techniques, media and materials to infuse energy, atmosphere and emotion into her paintings and collages.
Carole works predominantly with acrylics but has also used watercolour and oils. She also likes to integrate the use of collage with her paintings to build layers and add depth and texture. Much of her work has been influenced by geometric, abstract expressionist and vorticist styles that capture a particular essence and energy that she likes to weave through her work.
Carole has studied at City Lit, Mary Ward Centre, Putney School of Art, the Tate Gallery and other London art colleges. Over the last 10 years Carole has exhibited her work at various venues in London and has also been involved in community arts projects.
