The White Lotus by Judy Head

The White Lotus flower - emerging from the swamps of India,  serene and pristine it is the symbol of purity and divine creation.  This flower holds a special place in Asian societies, especially in the Hindu and Buddhist religions.  It is sacred.    I painted this image during the autumn of 2023 , together with the Mimosa, as flowers that represent  strength in adversity, rising above the challenges that life throws at us!

I use the traditional Japanese brushes  with black Sumi and coloured mineral inks on fine Washi paper.   The chop placed below the signature means Painting Brings Peace.

Framed Dimensions: 38.0 cm x 33.0 cm.  Framed in natural ash.
