Wild Begonia in Flower

I purchased a small wild Begonia  a year or so before lockdown and keep it in a pot in my studio where it seems to thrive.  The velvety leaves are green-purple on top and burgundy underneath and delicate strands hold the tiny pink blossoms which seem to turn at the darkest time of the year!  This is one of many studies that a have done of this plant .

It is painted, using the traditional Sumi black ink and coloured minerals, on Japanese Washi paper.  It is then float mounted and frame in natural ash.
