Abigail Lipski Art

Abigail Lipski ArtistI am a London-based multi-disciplinary artist. My practice involves layered history, fractured memory and myth influenced by nature, music, writing, powerful female icons and my birthplace, Epping Forest. Collating photography, collage and sculpture I re-contextualise abstracted visuals from my surroundings, popular culture memory creating a portal through which the observer can make otherworldly discoveries.

My work often references the natural world with a somewhat playful utopian imagining of landscape and its inhabitants. Recent work explores the mycelium underworld that invisibly sustains and nourishes the planet from its very own queendom.

‘When we think of fungi, we probably think of mushrooms. But mushrooms are only fruiting bodies, analogous to apples on a tree. Most fungi live out of sight, yet make up a massively diverse kingdom of organisms that support and sustain nearly all living systems. The more we learn about fungi, the less makes sense without them’ Merlin Sheldrake - Entangled Life

My work has been exhibited in group shows across London, most recently at No Format Gallery, Atelier Brighton, Graham Hunter Gallery, Bargehouse Oxo Tower, Truman Brewery and Flowers Gallery W1.

I am currently represented by Skylark, Sprout and Ingo Fincke Galleries.
