We are very sad to share with you news that, on 4th September 2021, our fellow artist Corrine Edwards passed away, following a short illness. Her family were with her. We are all so shocked by how suddenly it happened, it is hard to believe.
Corrine and Skylark Galleries
Corrine was a very active and well loved member of our group. Living near the gallery, she regularly popped in to chat with the artist on shift and she is sorely missed every day.
Corrine was very friendly and outgoing, doing everything she could to promote the galleries, by giving out flyers and encouraging random strangers to visit. She joined our publicity team and made many promotional videos featuring 'guided tours' of the gallery; many of which are available online.
Corrine's Artwork
Corrine was interviewed by our artist Joel Sydenham on our Instagram Live where she talks about her work. Follow this link to watch.
Much of her work was inspired by her interest in bees and for World Bee Day we made a special issue of our newsletter featuring Corrine’s work, including a photo of Corrine in her bee suit. Follow this link to see the newsletter.
Corrine was a prolific artist creating an enormous range of diverse of artworks, including ceramics, prints and jewellery over the years.
Always hoping that they would find new homes, she signed up for whatever exhibiting opportunities were available; she exhibited with us in Skylark 1 – Gabriel’s Wharf, Skylark 2 – Oxo Tower Wharf, at our big Summer Exhibition in the gallery@oxo and our pop-up show at Burgh House in Hampstead.
Corrine was such a warm, kind-hearted and creative person, with so much more life to live.
Rest in peace, dear Corrine, we miss you.

We are delighted to hear that Skylark artist Diana McKinnon's work has been accepted for this prestigious exhibition at the Bankside Gallery, on London's South Bank.
Over 150 art pieces that evidence the highest standards of embroidery have been selected to be exhibited, so it's a great honour for Diana to have been selected.
