Wild grasses vase by Jonquil Cook

This elegant vase was made using a part-thrown, part-coiled technique from stoneware clay. The cobalt slip decoration varies in shade from blue to violet, and has been carved free-hand with an entirely unique design incorporating wild flowers and grasses. A satin white overglaze fired to 1260 degrees on the exterior, and a turquoise interior, render the vase entirely watertight making this the perfect vessel for elaborate floral display, or to be used simply as a stand-alone art piece.
