I produce impactful original drawings and oil paintings in the moment of real people. Through them I explore themes of separation and connection, seeking to blur the boundaries between illustration and fine art.
The Skylark collective.
Skylark Galleries have been going for more than a couple of decades. It is an artist’s group with about 30+ active artists at any one time sharing the wall space, costs, and workload of a superbly sited, attractive, and exciting retail art-gallery system.
In 2012 I joined the Skylark Gallery artist’s collective. We have two art galleries on the Southbank in London approximately half way between the Tate Modern and the London Eye. I like being a Skylark artist because of the location, and we get a chance to meet art lovers from all over the world.
I make images very much inspired by early hand tinted post cards where the image was printed using silk-screen or lithography in a neutral colour. They were then coloured individually by hand, often in inspiring colours which showed more than the reality.
