The shadowed portal framed a wonderful contrast, opening onto the brightly lit courtyard beyond.\u003cbr\u003e   As I drew, tourists and art lovers wandered past, with the occasional compliment coming my way. \u003cbr\u003e   Somerset House is a grand neoclassical building complex on the south side of the Strand in central London, overlooking the River Thames. The courtyard hosts a wonderful variety of events throughout the year, from art exhibitions and music concerts to winter ice skating. Today, it was buzzing with a print festival.\u003cbr\u003e   In the midst of sketching, one of the print festival entrants asked me to look after his work while he ferried it through to its destination.
