Sarah Gursoy-Heuser’s current practice explores ideas of national identity, collective memory, and how land
and borders become central sites for tension. She creates works that are multi-layered, carry
historical strata, memory and a sense of place: Wood-cuts of fragmented landscape /
seascape are layered with text to hint at current news, the breaking away from Europe and
its shared dreams.
Sarah is a printmaker/artist who works from her studio in Catford.
Sarah teaches printmaking at Lewisham School of Art and Design and runs
Catford Printmaking Club from her studio.
She is one of the founding members of the Catford Art Trail. @catfordarts and opens her
