Kala Tikka (1) by Anjali B Purkayastha

£210.00

Growing up in India, the evil eye was an unspoken part of my life. A little black dot is instinctively put by mothers on their little ones to protect them from “buri nazar” (evil eye) or bad luck. This series is inspired by the symbolic ‘black dot’ along with references of animals or masks that are used in different cultures as a symbol of warding off evil.

Acrylic and ink on handmade paper.
